The Jacob’s Ladder Festival is a twice a year folk music festival in Israel, held in Nof Ginosar on the shores of the Sea of Galilee in the north of Israel. The festival takes place in May (Spring) and December (Winter) and is a unique musical and social event for lovers of all aspects of folk music from Bluegrass to World music, Irish jigs to Country Rock, and Blues to Renaissance. The May festival is the larger of the two, with events taking place outdoors, while the December festival is more intimate, with an indoor series of events. The 2016 spring Jacob’s Ladder Festival will take place on the weekend of May 19-21, 2016.
The 2016 festival line-up includes Spuyten Duyvil, with songs from the roots of traditional American music, Dov Hammer’s blues, Jane Bordeaux’s country folk music in Hebrew, The Bloomers, New Orleans Jazz Band Function and more. As well as the music, the festival features dance and music workshops, a story tent, yoga, tai chi, swimming, crafts fair, and free camping.
