ACOYA Curacao Resort, Villas, and Spa is a luxurious and eco-conscious retreat that offers contemporary, high-end accommodations, spacious villas, and opulent apartments, all within proximity to some of the most stunning beaches and captivating tourist attractions on the island. One of the standout advantages of this resort is its prime location, situated just a short 20-minute drive from Hato International Airport, a mere 10-minute journey from the Willemstad World Heritage Historic Center, and a quick 5-minute drive to Madero Beach, Curacao’s premier beach and bustling commercial district.

I had the pleasure of staying in a spacious one-bedroom villa, complete with a stunning covered patio that was elegantly furnished to create an outdoor living room experience, offering a delightful view of the pool. Both the bedroom and bathroom in the villa were generously sized, providing ample comfort. To my pleasant surprise, the furniture and bedding far exceeded my expectations.

The villa itself exuded a relaxed, beachy ambiance with its combination of dark wood and crisp white furnishings. The closet space was impressive, even accommodating storage for a family of four bicycles within the bedroom. Every room had easy access to the outdoors, flooding the entire space with abundant natural light.

For travelers concerned about adapter compatibility, fret not. The hotel offers adapters upon request, ensuring that all your electrical needs are met, as the outlets are of the European style (220V).

Acoya is a truly remarkable haven for relaxation that instantly feels like a second home. The modern kitchen in my villa was equipped with all the essential appliances for convenient meal preparation, adding to the overall comfort of my stay.

The resort’s surroundings are nothing short of enchanting, with meticulously landscaped and impeccably maintained grounds. There was not one, but two separate pools, situated side by side, along with a separate kiddie pool, ensuring ample space for all guests to unwind. One of the standout features of the property is a picturesque lake that takes on breathtaking beauty during sunset.

The pools themselves were exceptionally clean and surprisingly refreshing upon entry, unlike many others I’ve experienced. The adjacent deck area boasted comfortable lounge chairs and abundant seating, conveniently located right next to the bar. Speaking of which, Steli, the bartender, concocted the most delightful piña colada I’ve ever tasted.

For those seeking a change of pace, the resort also offers a charming coffee shop and a vibrant sports bar, adding to the array of amenities that make Acoya a truly exceptional retreat

The resort offers an array of convenient transportation options, including complimentary shuttles and readily available taxis. The shuttle service includes trips to the beach at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. (although it’s also within walking distance), as well as visits to the supermarket at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Additionally, there’s a shuttle to the city center of Willemstad at 9 a.m. The resort goes the extra mile by providing beach towels and free entrance tickets to Mambo Beach, which also include beach chairs.

For those seeking a worry-free dining experience, the resort now offers an all-inclusive package featuring three meals a day, along with snacks and beverages throughout the day. Dining options encompass The Kitchen buffet restaurant as well as the opportunity for an à la carte dinner at either the Italian La Lagoon Trattoria or the steak-focused Lake Side Grill, available every other evening. The quality of the food was consistently excellent, with a strong emphasis on freshness.

Fitness enthusiasts will appreciate the well-appointed, fully equipped gym conveniently located on-site within one of the villas.

The resort’s staff is exceptionally friendly, and their multilingual abilities are impressive, with proficiency in Spanish, German, Papiamentu, and English. Effective communication is thus effortlessly achieved. Furthermore, the general manager, Jose Abreu, is a visible and approachable presence on the property, demonstrating a genuine concern for the well-being and satisfaction of every guest.
