About this Event
Professor Miriam Hoffman has been an icon in the Yiddish language, academic and cultural world for decades. Through her tireless efforts and her close relationship with Joseph Papp, she was instrumental in the founding of the Joseph Papp Yiddish Theatre and Yiddishkayt Initiative. Her curricula, books, articles and award-winning plays have been celebrated worldwide. In this multilingual tribute, Professor Hoffman’s momentous life and multidimensional works will be brought to life, exploring not only her original work, but also her reimagining of the works of Isaac Bashevis Singer, Neil Simon, Mel Brooks and Sholem Aleikhem.
