    I had lunch with an associate and ordered lamb shawarma and curry chicken, both of which were delicious.  We were seated at the back beneath a mural depicting notable personalities—Lenny Kravitz, Bob Marley, Albert Einstein, Charlie Chaplin, and the Mona Lisa—each happily enjoying a falafel sandwich. The menu is in French and English, but don’t expect desserts or coffee, as they are not offered.

    Yomi Peretz, the restaurant owner, told the New York Jewish Travel Guide (NYJTG) that “the popularity of this restaurant is a secret mix of spices we buy in Israel and mix here, the ambiance, and the family spirit. He emphasized that they offer unique quality ingredients and pay attention to detail in their preparation, with a motto of “Best Quality Food.” The average preparation time of a falafel is 15 seconds, faster than most competitors.

    On very busy days, during the lunch rush, the ushers will take orders from patrons still standing in line. Only the disabled and elderly are allowed to wait inside, out of the rain or sun, for their number to be called. Part of the charm of L’As du Fallafel is its bustling, lively atmosphere. The lines that often stretch down the street are a testament to its popularity. While the wait might seem daunting, it’s well worth it. The staff efficiently manages the crowds, and the anticipation only heightens the dining experience.
