For countless years, tens of thousands of Jews have flocked to the desert fortress of Masada from every corner of the globe to celebrate the seminal rite of passage of their sons and daughters, the Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah.
Some arrive in large groups. Others are accompanied by only a few close family members with whom they share their happiness. Suffused with rejoicing, some embarrassed or shy before the crowd, nevertheless they make the journey to re-connect with their roots in Israel.
In the life of every Jew there comes a moment in which he or she is united with all others as one under Heaven, participating in the acceptance of Torah Commandments and his or her place among the Jewish People. For them, and for those who are yet to come, the Masada Experience has been created in their honor as well as to further encourage the Jewish People to fulfill the mitzvah of aliyah l’Torah in celebration of a Bar Mitzvah at Masada.
