Travelers Rely on Tour Operators as U.S. Airlines Resume Israel Flights

Yad Sarah is Israel’s largest volunteer-staffed organization, providing a wide array of compassionate health and home care services for people of all ages, with special programs directed at support for older adults and for children and adults with disabilities.

The travel services that Yad Sarah provides are outlined below:

Borrow Medical & Adaptive Equipment: Equipment, such as wheelchairs and walkers, are available to be borrowed at all Yad Sarah branches nationwide. The deposit varies according to the item, and there is an additional delivery charge. Yad Sarah prefers to be notified one week in advance, but for most equipment no notice is needed.

Equip Your Hotel Room: Various equipment, like shower chairs, that make staying in a hotel room feasible is also available in most cities in Israel. There is a deposit for the equipment as well as a delivery charge, and a notice should be given to Yad Sarah three weeks before you need the equipment. It is also important to note that this service is subject to hotel policy.

Borrow Oxygen Cylinders / Concentrators: Borrowing oxygen cylinders and concentrators is available at Yad Sarah branches in major cities. There is a deposit for the equipment and a delivery fee, if delivery is required. Yad Sarah prefers that people who plan on borrowing these items give them two weeks’ notice. People borrowing this equipment should also make sure to bring their own personal tubing and masks.

Get Transportation to / from Ben Gurion Aiport: If you are planning on traveling in or out of the main international airport of Israel, then Yad Sarah can help provide transportation. This service is available in most major cities in Israel, and fees are subject to destination. Yad Sarah needs at least two weeks’ notice in order to ensure you get the transportation you need. Note that this service is subject to availability of vehicles and is not provided on the Sabbath or Jewish holidays.

Get Transportation and / or Tours: Yad Sarah provides assistance with transportation to tours and finding accommodating tours in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. There are fixed fees, and two weeks’ noticed is preferred. However, it is possible to make arrangements with shorter notice.
