Contemporary cantor choirs draw inspiration from the biblical tradition of the Levites, who played a significant role as singers in the Jerusalem Temple. Psalm 122 is among the fifteen Psalms known as “the songs of steps” or “the songs of ascents” (Shir hamaalot in Hebrew). One of the most exceptional choirs, “Kolot Min Hashamayim,” dedicated to the memory of Shoshana Zilberstein and conducted by Maestro Rafael Biton, along with cantors Tzudik Greenwald, Berel Tzuker, and Moshe Fishel, transported the audience back to the golden era of Jerusalem during the time of the Temple.
Maestro Rafael Biton, a student of Elli Yaffe, is the founder of the Malachim Music School and the “Kolot Min Hashamayim in Memory of Shoshana Zilberstein Choir.”
Cantor Moshe Fishel is a distinguished graduate of the Tel Aviv Cantorial Institute, where he honed his skills. He continued his musical journey under the esteemed guidance of Eli Yaffe, the renowned conductor of the Great Synagogue in Jerusalem. With an impressive career, Cantor Moshe Fishel has been appointed Chief Cantor of the Main Synagogue in Munich and Melbourne. He is celebrated for his global performances alongside some of the finest cantors and composers of the younger generation.

Weronika Suchodolska was born in 1986 in Krakow. In 2010, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film Directing from the University of Silesia in Katowice, followed by a Master’s degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow in 2016.
Since 2010, Weronika has served as a staff photographer for Israeli schools and adult delegations visiting Jewish memorial sites in Poland. She also captures moments of Jewish families embarking on journeys to Poland to explore their roots, providing invaluable photo documentation of these meaningful experiences.
